DESCRIPTION:At 2:00pm on Sunday\, October 5\, 2025\, Jeff Barnes will share details on the “Forts of the Missouri River Valley.” Admission is free but donations are encouraged. \nBarnes is a long-time student and writer of Great Plains history. A former newspaper reporter and editor\, he is the author of eight books of Great Plains subjects\, including two winners of the Nebraska Book Award. \nHe is also among the most frequently requested speakers of Humanities Nebraska\, the largest speaker organization in the state\, and is the first HN speaker to present in all 93 Nebraska counties. Since beginning as a public speaker in 2008\, Jeff has made more than 900 appearances for groups in ten states. \nJeff is a past trustee of the Nebraska State Historical Society\, past chair of the Nebraska Hall of Fame Commission\, and former marketing director of the Durham Museum.

She is from Brandon SD and former lead vocalist of Jukebox Zeroes.  She has opened for many national acts like Foreigner\, Joan Jett\, Rick Springfield\, and Brett Michaels. \nOver the last few years\, Ellsworth has played at Sioux City venues like Crash Boom Bang Whiskey Hole\, The Marquee\, and the Sioux City Orpheum with Rockestra.

DESCRIPTION:On October 19\, 2025\, at 2:00pm the Betty Strong Encounter center welcomes talented guitar player/singer Mark Buckingham. Admission is free\, but goodwill donations are encouraged. \nMark Buckingham started playing guitar at age of 12. Playing rhythm guitar with his\, dad\, a Honky Tonk piano player\, Mark played in many different  places.  While serving in the US Army\, Mark started playing banjo. He was in a variety of bands\, from Bluegrass to Americana to Country.  He has played in a number of Country bands. \nCurrently Mark plays various places\, assisted living\, nursing homes\, music festivals etc.  Mark enjoys and plays a variety of instruments including Piano\, Guitar Bass Harmonica Dobro Lap Steel Banjo Penny whistle. Mark is looking forward to playing a variety of music styles from\, Country to Bluegrass to 60s/70s and gospel.  Mark accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior in June of 1979 and is thankful for the gift of music that God has given him!

SUMMARY:Radio Rangers “Songs From Our Youth”
DESCRIPTION:On Sunday\, October 26\, 2025\, Radio Rangers will play “Songs From Our Youth…Or more songs we hope you’ll enjoy.” Admission is free\, but goodwill donations are encouraged. \nThe audience can expect to hear the music of the 60’s\, 70’s and 80’s that so many enjoyed in their youth.  This will include songs from many favorites such as The Beatles\, Carole King\, Creedence Clearwater\, Buddy Holly\, Mary Chapin Carpenter\, Fleetwood Mac and others as well as a few original tunes. \nRadio Rangers are a two-piece band playing live music that includes original songs and classic covers. Randy sings\, plays drums and keyboard lead\, and Donna sings and plays guitar and bass. \nRandy and Donna Washburn (Radio Rangers) have been playing together in bands since 1979.   They released their 3rd album of original songs in 2019 titled “Where I Want To Be”.  The album was recorded and produced at Raonna Studios in Sioux City\, IA.  Raonna Studios is a 45-year BMI (Broadcast Music Incorporated) affiliate. Previous releases from the label include “Prairie Fire” released in 1983\, and “Just For Fun” released in 1989. \nRandy and Donna are retired music teachers that formed the current duo after retirement. Radio Rangers has played wineries\, night clubs\, parties and celebrations in Iowa\, Nebraska\, South Dakota\, Minnesota\, Arizona and Florida.
