SUMMARY:Sioux City Macro Photographer Gallery Exhibit

The exhibit opens Tuesday\, March 3\, 2026\, and runs through April 5\, 2026. Admission is free\, but free will donations are encouraged. \nBased in Iowa\, this artist is a macro and micro photographer who has spent the last decade exploring the soil in the Loess Hills.  Specializing in slime molds\, fungi\, and insects\, she seeks the intricate details that evade the naked eye. SUMMARY:Saturday Class: Say it With a Picture!
DESCRIPTION:How do you pass down stories to future generations if you don’t have books? On Saturday\, April 11\, join Ms. Amy at the Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center to learn how native tribes shared their stories. No registration is required for this free class. The class is held at 11:00am. Admission is free\, but free will donations encouraged. \nThe tribes painted on animal hides\, mainly buffalo\, to record their stories.  They painted winter counts to record the events of the year. Some paintings reflected successful hunts or battles. You will get to create a record of a special event of your own (but not on real hides!) \nThe Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center/Betty Strong Encounter Center was built and is sustained by the Missouri River Historic Development Organization as a gift of history to the community.
