The Center is pleased to present the work of Betty Skewis-Arnett in the main gallery of the Betty Strong Encounter Center from July 25 through September 3. The exhibit, called “Varying Perspectives,” is a collection of Skewis-Arnett’s abstract oil paintings. Admission is free.
Skewis-Arnett is an Abstract Expressionist Painter who works primarily in oils. She has dedicated her life to working in the arts, most notably as a theater professional. She is a Professor Emerita at Morningside University, who spent more than 30 years teaching, directing, acting in and designing theatrical productions.
In her retirement, her “Act II,” she has time to rekindle her love of painting. She has had shows at Morningside University, Vangarde Arts, LeMars Art Center, Badd Bones Gallery and the Witter Gallery.
Skewis-Arnett’s education includes a Bachelor of Arts in Theater with a Minor in Studio Art from Morningside University and a Master of Fine Art in Costume Design from University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
