Colorful powwow

The powwow tradition is incredibly important to the Siouxland community. Together we will learn about the origins of the powwow, the significance of it, and why it is important to keep Native traditions alive and strong. After reading the book, Powwow Day, students will prepare for their own powwow. We will discuss and create different tribal flags, and will discuss the importance of dancing and music in Native culture.
