FreeOn Sunday, January 19, at 2:00pm, join us as Brian Buckmeier and Darren Maurer discuss their “Dinosaurs of the Hell Creek” museum exhibit that will be at the Sioux City Museum from Feb. 1 to July 31. Admission is free; reception to follow.
The pair have been hunting and digging fossilized dinosaur bones from the Hell Creek formation for almost 30 years. The pair have found fossils from T-Rex, triceratops, edmontosaurus, and several other species of late Cretaceous dinosaurs. Brian discovered a new species of dinosaur, named Dracorex, in 2003. Join us to hear about some of the fossils and an idea what will be contained in the exhibit.
