The Betty Strong Encounter Center will proudly display artwork created by the students of Sioux City East Middle School (Grades 6-8) starting Friday, May 26th. The Center encourages guests to view the artwork at no cost during normal business hours; the exhibit will run through the summer months.
The East Middle School art program has a longstanding tradition of encouraging creativity and self-expression, and this exhibit showcases the talent and dedication of its students. The selected pieces highlight the students’ skills and creativity across various media, including painting, drawing, and sculpting. Several pieces were selected for the Sioux City Art Center’s 34th annual “Youth Art Month Exhibition” and the “Sioux City Community School District’s Artworks 2023.”
“We are incredibly proud of our students’ hard work and dedication to their craft,” said Ashley Clasby, the school’s art teacher. “The pieces on display are a testament to their talent and the endless possibilities of art.”
The Betty Strong Encounter Center is a fitting venue for the exhibition, providing an ideal setting for the community to view the students’ work. The Center invites everyone to come see the artwork on display and to support the students’ achievements.
In addition, the Center invites other student art classes and programs to partner with it in a similar fashion. For more information, please contact call Sara Olson at 712-224-5242 or send her email at solson@siouxcitylcic.com.
