FreeThe Lewis and Clark Kids’ Club will take a trip to the Mitchell Prehistoric Indian Village and Corn Palace in Mitchell, South Dakota, on Saturday, July 20, 2024. The Prehistoric Village is not only a museum and cultural site, but also an active archeological dig! Students will receive a guided tour to learn more about prehistoric Native American cultures and will be able to observe the archeological site where scientists and historians are actively uncovering more evidence of early North American societies. We will also make a stop at the Mitchell Corn Palace, which is the world’s last remaining corn palace (Sioux City was the originator of the corn palace concept and was world-renowned for them!). Transportation and admission are provided but students are asked to bring their own picnic lunch.
