Who made that print in the dirt?  Do you want to learn to recognize the animal prints? Starting at 10:00am on Saturday, July 11, 2026, or Wednesday, July 15, 2026, come Animal Tracking at the Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center.  No admission charge, but free will donations encouraged.

President Jefferson directed Captain Lewis to document the new animals that he saw on the expedition. He saw lots of critters everywhere!  Fortunately, Lewis recorded everything about them, what they looked like and what their tracks looked like.  Today you can match up some tracks with critters and maybe create some of your own animals and unique tracks. Weather permitting, we will be outside with sidewalk chalk, so dress accordingly.

Recommended for youth up to 8th grade; all kids are welcome. For details on each class, visit https://siouxcitylcic.com/events-classes/ or contact Amy Linder, Director of Youth Programming at alinder@siouxcitylcic.com.

The Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center/Betty Strong Encounter Center was built and is sustained by the Missouri River Historic Development Organization as a gift of history to the community. For more information call 712-224-5242. Find the Center at www.siouxcitylcic.com or www.facebook.com/sclandc
