As a volunteer at the Center, Rich Pope is a familiar presence to the staff, and we are continually astonished by the range of his interests and the depth of his knowledge on an array of topics. Serendipitously, these topics often have a strong connection to the types of programming in which the Center specializes: historical, cultural and educational.
Crabgrass has created a combination of Western music styles and will perform classic country music. Some of the songs include hits by Patsy Cline, Willie Nelson, Bob Wills, Loretta Lynn, Carter Family and others. The group has been playing together for over 15 years and perform songs of the ‘50s, ‘60s, and ‘70s.
On the core philosophy of Lifelong Learning, Owens notes, "I have read that learning is making sense of the world around us. And since the only constant in the world is change, we need to continue learning to thrive. If people stop growing and learning, they are more likely to become depressed and not take care of themselves.
