The Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center was recently featured in the October 2023 newsletter of the Iowa Museum Association (IMAges). The article focuses on the interactive and innovative programming our Education Coordinator, Amanda Gibson, intends to bring to the Siouxland community. The Center’s children’s programming has traditionally focused on teaching kids
the narrative of Lewis and Clark’s journey along the Missouri River, specifically in the Sioux City area. Gibson intends to continue that tradition, but also to incorporate new ambitious programs, which would expand kids’ cultural intelligence by encouraging a spirit of discovery and adventure in the wider world, while teaching them practical skills.
