The Center has received a $2,500 grant from the Siouxland Community Foundation to support our kids’ Adventure Saturday series, which is in the planning stages.
The Foundation grants funds to nonprofit organizations that provide services vital to the quality of life in Siouxland. They award grants to address present and emerging needs in the focus areas of arts and culture, civic affairs, education, environment, health, and human services.
The Center will use the grant to fund guest presenter fees and educational materials as it expands its children’s programming.
“The Siouxland Community Foundation and the Center are pursuing the same goal: to enrich the quality of life in the area,” says Amanda Gibson, the Center’s Education Coordinator. “I’m personally grateful to have been granted this gift because the goal of the series – exposing youth to experiences, people, and cultures that they typically do not encounter – is near and dear to my heart. And since we offer all our programming at no charge, our series may reach kids who otherwise may not have this kind of opportunity.”
