Tours

We love to have groups come visit the Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center. Group Tours should be scheduled with our staff to ensure a good visitor experience.

A guided tour provides a staff member who highlights the story of the expedition while showing visitors the exhibits. A tour can also include an informative short film in the Keelboat Theater.

We welcome self-guided tours as well, but ask that you schedule your visit with us to ensure that staff and resources are available to accommodate all our visitors. Please call Amy Linder (712-224-5242) or email alinder@siouxcitylcic.com to schedule your tour.

School Tour General Guidelines

Group Size: We recommend large class groups be divided into approximately 25-30 students per group. Please provide at least 2 chaperones for every 25-30 students.

Suggested Tour Length: For groups of 25-30, the tour takes 45 minutes. If you include the film with your visit, please add 15 minutes to your schedule. Larger groups should use this as a rotational guideline with shorter tour length possible.

Tour Extras: We also have various activities available to school tour groups. Requestable items include fort building, native games, peace medals, coloring pages, scavenger hunt, and load list. School tour groups may also receive an activity books upon request.

Scheduling: Tours are available daily Tuesday-Friday, 9:30am-2:00pm.

Be sure to confirm your booking is confirmed at least 2 weeks ahead of your visit.

Booking with Riverboat Museum is a separate reservation unless otherwise arranged.
