The Betty Strong Encounter Center is excited to present in its gallery a display of works by Sioux City Macro Photographer. The exhibit opens Tuesday, March 3, 2026, and runs through April 5, 2026. Admission is free, but free will donations are encouraged.

Based in Iowa, this artist is a macro and micro photographer who has spent the last decade exploring the soil in the Loess Hills.  Specializing in slime molds, fungi, and insects, she seeks the intricate details that evade the naked eye. Her work blends scientific curiosity with artistic composition. Through focus stacking, precision lighting, and meticulous editing, she invites viewers to slow down and rediscover the wonder in small-scale life.

With a body of work rooted in field experience and a dedication to refining her craft, she continues to document the extraordinary biodiversity of the Midwest, sharing a perspective that bridges art, ecology, and storytelling.

The Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center/Betty Strong Encounter Center was built and is sustained by the Missouri River Historic Development Organization as a gift of history to the community.
