On November 2, 2025, at 2:00pm, come enjoy a musical concert by Bill Peterson and Friends (Ron Johnson, Barbara Sabella and Beth Preheim). Admission is free, but freewill donations encouraged.
Bill, Ron, Barbara, and Beth will bring the audience stories of Sioux City’s past through readings and music. Barbara is composing a song about Andrew G. Anderson, the Swedish immigrant hero of the Floyd River flood of 1892. They will tell the story of a Sioux City doctor’s encounter with Frank and Jesse James. Another story will be about mail order brides from Sioux City and how a Norwegian bachelor farmer in Highland Township, Dakota Territory married one of them.
Bill is from Canton, South Dakota and has been fiddling for over 40 years and plays Scandinavian, Celtic and old time fiddle tunes. Bill and some friends started the Sioux River Folk Festival in Canton in 1980 and has toured the country and Europe with his friend, Dwight Lamb.
