Black and white add with historical photos

Knoepfler Chevrolet is Siouxland fixture, having operated successfully in Sioux City for more than 100 years. When the company approached its remarkable one-century anniversary in 2022, it also approached long-time local journalist Joanne Fox about documenting the company’s history, including its founding, growth, challenges and changes over the years.

“What surprised me most about this story was the entrepreneurship and community involvement of founding partners Ryal Miller and Duane Kidder,” says Fox. “In addition to selling cars, they worked on building an airplane and hosted a baseball team. I think the Center’s audience will appreciate the investment these two founders and later, Jim Knoepfler and his sons, made in not only their business, but also in the Siouxland community.”

Fox will supplement her remarks with a slide presentation and free copies of the book, “100 Years of Knoepfler Chevrolet,” signing them if requested.
