On Sunday, February 9, 2025, at 2:00 pm the Betty Strong Encounter Center once again welcomes Bill “Chopper” Pelchat and his co-hort Denny Feauto.
On Sunday, February 16, 2025, at 2:00 pm in the Betty Strong Encounter Center auditorium, Mike and Jack Langley will help us “Shake off the Winter Blues” with their lively musical presentation.
Dr. Scott Culpepper will present “Cotton Mather: Spirituality, Science, and the Supernatural” at 2:00 PM on Sunday, February 23, 2025, at the Betty Strong Encounter Center.
On Sunday, March 3, 2025, at 2:00 pm in the Betty Strong Encounter Center’s Stanley Evans Auditorium, come hear the Radio Rangers play “Songs We Like to Play.”
The Betty Strong Encounter Center has received funding from Humanities Iowa, a private, non-profit, to host a presentation called “Just Before the Battle Mother- A Visit from a Civil War Soldier.” by O.J. Fargo on March 9, 2025, at 2:00pm.
On Sunday, March 16, 2025, at 2:00 pm, “Magic Man” Corey Fravel will dazzle our audience with his skills of prestidigitation. Admission is free with a reception to follow.
On Sunday, March 23 at 2:00 pm, Mary Watts, harpist, will celebrate “Spring is in the Air.” She will play uplifting music including various spring and nature themes selections.
On Sunday, March 30, 2025, at 2:00 PM, the Betty Strong Encounter Center will welcome members of the Sioux City Magic Club who will present an afternoon of “Magic, Mystery, and Fun” with their astonishing assortment of tricks and illusions, appropriate for the entire family.

On April 2 at 5:30pm, Lisa Niebuhr will share the intriguing history of and what’s going on today at Mater Dei Catholic Parish in Sioux City (Immaculate Conception and Nativity Churches).
Award-winning author and historian Don Hickey will deliver an illustrated lecture on “James Madison: America’s Fourth President” at the Betty Strong Encounter Center at 2:00 PM on April 6, 2025.
On Sunday, April 13, 2025, at 2:00 pm, the Betty Strong Encounter Center welcomes Nancy Gillis. She will present about “A Divided Mind: The Life and Work of Gertrude Simmons Bonnin – aka Zitkala-Sa.”
