On May 1, the Sioux City Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center bid a fond farewell to the Scraposaurs traveling exhibit that has graced our lawn since April 2022. The Center has loved having the seventeen amazing large-scale scrap metal sculptures of dinosaurs and strange prehistoric creatures adorning the yard.
The Center credits artist Dale Lewis’s wild imagination and passion for recycling for creating fun and inspiring metal sculptures that always evoked a smile. The innovative quality of the exhibit delivered a powerful message about the benefits of recycling and the beauty of seeing objects in another way. Many visitors have truly enjoyed visiting the exhibit. Several have stated that they will be sad to see them leave. The Center staff admits, “The yard is going to look extremely empty once the creatures leave.”
